
HUEMAN® Foundation is a 501(c)3, tax-exempt non-profit corporation. The purpose of every program is to improve the quality of life of people of color and the poor. The Executive Director and Board of Directors assess communities that are in need of economic, educational or other resources, and collaborates with members of that community, and others to create and implement programs to effect positive change in those communities.
HUEMAN® Foundation conducts seminars and provides administrative, economic and program support, until that community is self-sufficient.
Living Proof is a mentoring program that addresses the needs of disadvantaged and at-risk youth from local high schools. The focus of this program is to assist students with graduation, college and career planning, goal setting and the development of life skills. We provide mentors who are living proof that success is attainable and equip the students with the necessary skills to overcome an obstacle and achieve their goals. Mentors commit a minimum of 20 hours per month.
Peripheral Vision™ prepares high school, junior college and amateur athletes for college and careers after sports. Our goal is to encourage aspiring professional athletes to use their peripheral vision, not only on the court, field and track, but in all aspects of their lives. Peripheral Vision provides mentors, academic assistance, personal and career development, and workshops pertaining to sports and alternative careers. Participants perform community service, explore their other talents and skills, learn about the multitude of educational and career opportunities and create strategies to become champions in their respective sport and life.
Nature of the Game College and Professional Tour (“Tour”) exposes students to universities, sports executives and tourist attractions in Washington, DC, Philadelphia and New York and is scheduled for August 12 - 23, 2009. The student athletes attending the Tour are selected based on their participation in the Peripheral Vision™ program, their GPA and leadership qualities. Previous participants visited Columbia University, Howard University, Georgetown University, Wharton School of Business and Lincoln University. They learned about the business side of professional sports, alternative careers and the impact of legislation on professional and collegiate athletics from William Hunter - Executive Director of the NBA Players Association, Bill Strickland - Blackwaves Sports, Dr. Janice Hilliard - NBA, Kenneth Shropshire - Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, Raphael Prevot - Management Counsel of the NFL, Arthur McAfee - Counsel for the NFL Players Association, Stephan Bell - President of Bell Consulting Group and other sports executives. HUEMAN® Rights provides scholarships to law students, legal seminars and legal assistance to underprivileged communities. HUEMAN® Foundation awards a scholarship to assist Howard University law students who need financial assistance to prepare for the California Bar Exam.
GEEC (Gamer • Education • Entertainment • Careers) conducts educational seminars that expose underrepresented groups to executives and career opportunities in the video game industry.
